While going through our father's workshop after he passed away (8yrs ago - hard to believe), we found these oak leaves he had cut out of wood. I'm not sure what his intention was for them, but a couple years ago I painted a few of them. This year in my attempt to be doing something creative while watching tv in the evening, I completed the project and finished all 14 of them!
They add a special touch to my "hint of fall" decor.

Oh, those look really cute. I like how you have them on your table and the way you painted them. You go girl!
Hugs,
Sue
Well - they actually sit on the hearth of my fireplace - they were on the table for photo purposes only!
Ah, I see. I'm sure they look great on the hearth.
So far there are 3 cupcakes left. They have lasted this long because I didn't think they would taste good. Usually I like sugary frosting and down here cream frosting is all the rage. Well, last night when John, Kyle and I got home from dinner I set out the cupcakes but the boys both passed. I ended up having a bite of one and wow.....it was so good. The other 3 cupcakes are now in big trouble ;)
Oh Sheryl, reading your blog brings out the girl in me, except for the part about the roof. Then I felt like Tim the Toolman, argh argh. When will we see you on HGTV?
What a wonderful job and memory! My dad too was a wood worker and found some unfinished projects too! Lori
